Why use Door/Hatch Sensors with a boat alarm?
Door/Hatch sensors are used on doors, hatches and moveable windows to trigger the alarm when a magnet is pulled away from the sensor. These sensors are very common in alarm systems. The main cabin door on this boat is protected with a Door/Hatch sensor.
How do they work?
The Door/Hatch sensor consists of a sensor and a magnet. The sensor is mounted inside on the door, window or hatch frame. The magnet is mounted on the door, window or hatch cover. When the door, window or hatch is opened the magnet is pulled away from the sensor which triggers an active alarm causing the siren to howl.
Is it difficult to install?
No. It is easily installed with ordinary hand tools. Refer to the installation manual for details.
